The Appalachian League is a low level minor league based in the region of east Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia.  The Appy League was formed in 1911.  It lasted four seasons.  The league was revived in 1921 and ran for five seasons.  In 1936 the league resumed and is running to this present day.
